ESR - Emotional Stress Release

A very simple yet very powerful technique.

You can easily do it for yourself in times of stress or for others.

The points in the picture are gently held, either with the whole hand (easier when you are unfamiliar with the location of the points) or with two fingers on each point.

For your own personal use, you can hold these points while focusing on any situation that you are finding stressful.

The acupoint we are using here is Gallbladder 14, located 1 thumb nail width above the middle of the eyebrow. It is located on both sides of our body.

While holding these points:

1) Call the situation to mind, think of how it makes you feel, any colours, smells or sounds associated with the issue.

2) Now imagine how you would like the situation to be. The desired outcome.

3) Continue holding the points until you feel a slight pulse under your fingertips. This could take several minutes.

4) Once pulses are felt, or you simply feel calmer within yourself - revisit the original stressful situation and see how it feels. Has it changed? Has the emotional charge reduced?

This is a great technique to help children who may be feeling some overwhelm about a particular situation – friends or family issues or exam stress.
